Here鈥檚 what you won鈥檛 find on her resume.
鈥淲hen I was growing up, I wanted to be a marine biologist or veterinarian. In high school, I shadowed a vet, but I nearly passed out while watching her do a dog’s teeth cleaning. After that experience, and after realizing I could make a bigger impact in human medicine, I landed on being a doctor.鈥
鈥淲hen I鈥檓 not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife, two kids and our dog. We love getting away from the city and hiking, biking and camping.鈥
鈥淭hree of the items on my personal bucket list are visiting all the national parks in the U.S., going on a safari and backpacking part of the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT), which spans from Mexico to Canada through California, Oregon and Washington.鈥
鈥I love developing relationships with my patients. I particularly love caring for members of the LGBTQ+ community and having patients feel comfortable knowing that their physician is understanding of their specific needs, supportive and non-judgmental.
鈥淚n providing gender-affirming care, it is a privilege to be a part of my patients’ journeys to becoming their most authentic, comfortable selves. I am also passionate about providing reproductive, sexual and gynecologic care in a positive environment that allows my patients to have knowledge and agency in their health care.鈥
鈥淚 also have a clinical interest in providing gynecologic and reproductive health care. I enjoy the satisfaction of helping people understand their bodies and take control of their reproductive lives through trauma-informed health care, gynecologic screenings, as well as counseling regarding contraception, family building and menopause.鈥
鈥I am inspired to be the best physician possible by the stories and appreciation of my patients, many of whom have struggled to find spaces where they can receive high-quality, knowledgeable health care that affirms their identities and relationships.鈥
鈥淚 want to offer my patients excellent medical care, while helping them feel safe and supported every step of their journey. Being empathetic and calming is how I would describe my bedside manner.鈥
鈥One of the reasons I chose to practice at Keck Medicine is because it鈥檚 an academic medical center, which means that I am able to care for patients and also play a role in teaching the next generation of medical students and residents.鈥
鈥I am thankful to be working at Keck Medicine with other passionate health care professionals who are helping to create a place for all patients to receive equitable, high-quality care. My patients can easily see specialists and receive comprehensive care within our larger health system.鈥
鈥Keck Medicine brings together doctors and clinicians who are leaders, innovators and teachers in a wide spectrum of specialties.
